Linda Cullers

Linda (Bassman) Cullers is a native of Creve Couer (in St. Louis County). She has made her home in Arkansas since 1972 just after her marriage to Wendell Cullers.

Art and music were always an interest to Linda but her participation in band programs throughout junior and senior high school prevented her taking art classes. So she taught herself calligraphy and experimented in various mediums for her own enjoyment.

After moving to Arkansas, Linda enrolled in the University of Arkansas where she received an associates degree in 1970. While staying home with her son and expecting their daughter, Linda began doing some "freelance" commercial artwork. For fun, she did pen and ink wildlife watercolors which sold well at local galleries and art shows. Her third child, a son, was born in 1979 and it was soon after that she learned the intaglio etching process which lent itself well to the medium she was already working in and has proven to be a valuable asset to her art career.

Now, a wife and a mother of three grown children, Linda continues to produce her etchings and has a multi- tude of images marketed through Island International Artists. Some of her images are on greeting cards (Day Spring line) published by Outreach Publications in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She enjoys doing calligraphy on the side and continues her love of music by playing clarinet with the Arkansas Winds Concert Band and in local summer musical orchestras.

Linda's work can be found in galleries throughout the United States, Japan and Europe.
